CaMSP Evaluation News

Evaluation News for May:

The last newsletter focuses on curriculum products and dissemination activites from a variety of partnerships. We have enjoyed seeing and hearing about so many of the projects' spring showcases and other end of the year activities. It’s been a real pleasure working with all of you and seeing the pride in the faces of the teachers as they present and share their work!

Teacher Content Assessment (LMT and/or TCAS): More than two-thirds of the projects are well on their way with the administration of the last post-teacher content assessment and will be notified (or have already been) by This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. that they have reached a high enough response rate to be considered complete. The remaining projects (about 15) are either collecting a few follow up assessments or have dates scheduled in May or early June. Please continue to work closely with This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (LMT) and This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (TCAS) to submit your assessments. We SO appreciate all the work that has gone into these assessments and will be scoring the assessments in May and June in order to include them in the final evaluation reports and the APR.

Student Roster Request for Student Outcome Data reporting: Albert Chen is preparing the student roster request early this year and each Project Director will receive an email from him with the request for your partnership within the next week. In the past, you would have received this after June 30th. We hope that moving it up will allow you more time and help you in closing out grant activities sooner.

Please note that for partnerships whose core discipline selected is mathematics or mathematics & science, the student roster request will be similar to years past in terms of the student rosters for treatment and control groups for reporting on the math SBAC.

For science only partnerships we are asking for the total number of participating students by grade span (K-5, 6-8, and 9-12) for each of the participating teachers. This way Public Works can report the number of student impacted by the grant but we won’t have any individual state test scores to report in science. This will assist us in reporting for Section IV and VIII of the APR. With no science CST assessment this year, CDE has approved this modified request for science only partnerships.

For Cohort 13 projects, this is your first year reporting on student outcomes. More information on the APR reporting and process will be forthcoming from Public Works and 2017 information will be posted on our Website. However, if you would like to review additional information now, the process will be similar to what is posted for Cohort 10-12 from last year on our website.

Attendance Database: Please continue to input attendance—if you have completed all activities and attendance is updated or “final”, you can let Albert know. If you have questions regarding attendance or if there is something unique about your partnership’s activities this spring or summer (past June 30th), please let us know.

Local Evaluation Data Collection (all Cohorts) & Curriculum Products (C10 & C11): Please continue to work with your lead local evaluator regarding collection of any outstanding data from this spring and they will also be asking about the status of sample curriculum products. We are requesting all data to be in by the end of May or by mid-June at the latest. Again, just please work with your lead local evaluator if you have any concerns. We will be adding this information to July YTD Evaluation Report draft that will then get finalized for October and the final APR.

Contact Information: Please let us know if there is a new contact for your partnership after a particular date or if your email or contact information changes.
