Overview of the U.S. Department of Education Non-Regulatory Guidance: Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE) Grants
The U.S. Department of Education presented the webinar ESSA Overview of the Department of Education Non-Regulatory Guidance, Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grants on January 12th. The three main purposes of the SSAE grants are to:
- Provide all students with access to a well-rounded education
- Improve school conditions for student learning
- Improve the use of technology in order to improve academic achievement and digital literacy for all students
Currently, $1.65 billion is authorized for the program under a continuing resolution thru April 2017. A final appropriation for Fiscal Year 2017 has not been decided. Therefore, it is uncertain what level of funding will be available under this program.
