Lesson Rubric - National POWER Project

In many projects, teachers are creating NGSS aligned lessons and units. National’s POWER Project Evaluation Rubric for Units of Learning is used in a variety of ways to assist the development of high quality NGSS curriculum.

Learning Opportunities for the Integration of CA Standards

The project’s team also uses the rubric to give ongoing feedback to teachers during the unit creation process. When the units are complete, the teachers present them to another grade level who also use the rubric as a guide for the feedback they provide to presenting teachers. Teachers use this feedback to finalize their units.

The rubric is used in tandem with the project’s Power Observation tool, which was highlighted in a previous newsletter article. The rubric is based on elements of the observation tool, and the two contain similar components for both the units and what is observed in the classroom by the projec'ts team.
